Electric Locomotive EF66 100s was produced for reinforcement of freight transport of JR freight. It has taken over EF 66 0 in terms of function, but the top is entirely renewed in the form and painted in JR freight new standard color scheme. Following 8 engines of EF66 100s 1st version, the 2nd version appeared in 1990 as the improved model with a blue stripe added on the bottom hem and the headlights modified into rectangular shapes.
